3 de sept. de 2017 · Many consider that the recordings featuring Chris Youlden’s rich vocals and songwriting augmented by Kim Simmonds’s jazz-tinged, fluent blues guitar, were Savoy Brown’s finest work; this being especially so on such late-1960s cuts as “She’s Got a Ring in His Nose and a Ring on Her Hand” (a classy swing-blues) and the completely different and desolate groove of “Mr. Downchild.”

16 de dic. de 2022 · Musician Kim Simmonds, a co-founding singer/guitarist of the classic blues rock band Savoy Brown, has died. He was 75. On Thursday, the administrator of the Savoy Brow-Simmonds Facebook page shared the sad news. "Kim Simmonds passed away peacefully in the evening of December 13th -- may he rest in peace."
Savoy Brown was formed in 1965 by guitarist Kim Simmonds in London, England. Simmonds has been the group’s guiding hand from the first singles released in 1966 through the band’s newest effort, their forty-first album “Ain’t Done Yet” to be released August 28, 2020. Energetic blues has been the calling card of the band from the beginning.
