Among the year’s signal albums were ELP’s Tarkus, Pink Floyd ’s Meddle, Hawkwind ’s In Search Of Space and Genesis ’s Nursery Cryme, not to mention a brace from Yes. The three-minute pop song had become passé.

Thick as a Brick 2, abbreviated TAAB 2 and subtitled Whatever Happened to Gerald Bostock?, is the fifth studio album by Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson, released in 2012 as a follow-up of Thick as a Brick, Jethro Tull's 1972 parody concept album. It entered the Billboard chart at No. 55.
Thick As A Brick 2 is a great album and contains some of the best writing from Ian Anderson in years. The players are excellent and even though the album does not contain Martin Barre on guitar, many of the tracks sound like a dead ringer for classic Jethro Tull.
