Once upon a time in Rock 'n' Roll land there was a band called Mott the Hoople - well, actually from 1969-1974. After the loss of their original lead guitarist Mick Ralphs to Bad Company, they recruited Luther Grosvenor, who was re-christened Ariel Bender on joining the group by English singer/songwriter Lindsay de Paul - and has lived with the pseudonym ever since.

Mott the Hoople är ett brittiskt rockband bildat i slutet av 1960-talet i Hereford, England. De fick sin största hit "All the Young Dudes" 1972, vilken skrevs av David Bowie som en gåva till bandet [ 1]. Mott the Hoople had 2 more LPs due Columbia, that is the sole reason for this band's existence. Unlike The Hollies who replaced their lead singer with "wow" results, the high-pitched singer they got to replace Ian would have been better suited to fronting Black Oak Arkansas or Whitesnake. Without Ian's writing "Mott" is a lost cause.
14 de mar. de 2016 · Music Reviews: Drive On by Mott released in 1975. Hadn't listened to any Mott The Hoople albums before, in this case, I guess I should call the band just "Mott", as that is what they were known as during the time of Ian Hunter's absence from the band.
