前作Peaceful Worldと、今作Island Of RealがRascalsの最高傑作であり、そして70年代ロックの大名盤であることにはまったく議論の余地がないと思います。前作が2枚組の大作で相当に気合が入っていたのが、Alice ColtraneやRon Carterは今回は入ってない。

It peaked at number 122 on the Billboard 200 chart. In Canada, the album reached number 50. [1] The single "Love Me" reached number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 .
The music was sort of a combination of The Fifth Dimension, Sly & The Family Stone, Marvin Gaye and Miles Davis goes electric.
