This German pressing is better than the Scandinavian one. Less sibilance, better tonal balance. Music is a mixed bag, but “Lights in the night” is a true magic moment.

Recorded at Albert Studios, Sydney, Australia. Mastered at Sterling Sound, N.Y. The stamped P In the runout (sometimes it is very faint) denotes that this was pressed by Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman. Original bright orange inner sleeve with lyrics.
Knowing this it is difficult to imagine a greater dichotomy of the style of FATP and AC/DC but IMO the former is a much more innovative band, influencing an entire generation of 80s synthpop artists, from The Cars to Howard Jones, A-Ha, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, and so on. I find myself drawn in to the clever melodies and wry lyrics.
