When the English Girls' College was sequestered in Autumn 1956, many of the staff members were put under house arrest and subsequently expelled. Miss Nora Wooldridge who was the Headmistress 1953-1956 burnt many records. Luckily there was a nucleus of faithful staff who were not expelled and could take over and run the shocked school. which was renamed "el Nasr Girls' School".
