The story of Miss Pettigrew, a down at heel governess, who somehow becomes caught up in the lives of two society ladies and lives a completely different lifestyle for a day, is sheer fantasy. We are given a glimpse of the luxurious, but complicated lives of the rich and ‘wanna be’ famous who are all, it seems, much lovelier than you might at first suspect.
