In July 2015, the group released their thirteenth album, Man Plans God Laughs. On June 29, 2017, Public Enemy surprise released their fourteenth album, Nothing Is Quick in the Desert. The album was available for free download through Bandcamp until July 4, 2017.
Man Plans God Laughs isn't Public Enemy's strongest statement, but it's certainly not nearly as weak as its detractors would have you believe. What hasn't changed is Public Enemy's dedication to pro-Black politics and fierce political criticism. Chuck D is still fierce, and his writing is still quite sharp, although you can hear his age (mid-50s at the time of recording and release).
