The Castle School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, England, which serves the town and the surrounding villages. Pupils from Bristol also attend the school. There are around 1,189 pupils, including 360 in the sixth form.
We believe that early exposure to enriching experiences support a child's physical, social, mental, and emotional development. At The Castle, art, language (Spanish), music, culture, yoga/mindfulness are embedded within the school day, providing students with a foundation to continue to explore their interests and appreciate the world around them.
At The Castle School reading is integral to our student’s education. We ensure students have opportunities to read regularly in all lessons but also during tutor time. Strategies for reading are used across the taught curriculum as well as the personal development programme, in tutor time and PSHE. The curriculum – organisation.
