The College traces its origins to the year 1909 when the then Silliman Institute offered its first classical two-year A.B. course. In 1921, the College obtained recognition for its offering of a four-year A.B. degree. At about the same time, a science course was also offered, a B.S. degree major in Chemistry.
Security. For your own safety, the Head of College and the University Police strongly urge you to keep your room locked at all times. Entryway and basement doors and the four gates to the College should also be kept locked at all times; please do not prop doors open. Broken locks should be reported without delay to the Head of College’s Office.
Campus. Silliman is in Dumaguete City, beside the sea. It has 116,392 people. Silliman has two campuses. One is along Hibbard Avenue, called the main campus, and the other is beside the Silliman Beach, two kilometers from the main campus, known as the College of Agriculture and Marine Lab campus.
The Office of the Registrar and Admissions will assess the qualifications of applicants based on the information provided and the requirements of the preferred course. Under CHED Memorandum Order Nos. 18 and 32 Series of 2009 and CHED Memorandum Order No. 25, Series of 2010, the Silliman University College of Agriculture was designated as one of the country’s National Universities/ Colleges of Agriculture and Fisheries (NUCAFs) representing Region VII.
The Silliman University Medical School (SUMS) is an academic unit of Silliman University (SU), a private university, in Dumaguete, Philippines. Established on March 20, 2004, the school used to hold classes at a two-storey annex beside the Angelo King Allied Medical Sciences Center inside the SU Campus.
