Lightsleeper is het eerste studioalbum van de Nieuw-Zeelandse zanger/muzikant en liedjesschrijver Neil Finn en zijn zoon Liam Finn. Liam heeft wel eerder met zijn vader meegespeeld tijdens internationale tournees en bij plaatopnames, maar ze hebben nog niet eerder samen een album opgenomen.

Recorded mainly in Neil Finn's Auckland studio, Lightsleeper bursts with melody and the trademark euphoric flips that are the Finn family trademarks. When Neil's iconic pop sensibility meets Liam's lo-fi atmospherics, it's produces a feeling of intimacy and awe that makes it easy to wonder why the dynamic father and son duo haven't written together sooner.
Neil Finn wurde in den 80ern mit seiner Band Crowded House bekannt und tourt noch dieses Jahr als neuestes Mitglied von Fleetwood Mac. Zusammen auf der Bühne standen die beiden schon öfter, doch "Lightsleeper" ist die erste gemeinsame Studioproduktion der Neuseeländer.
