His determination to establish a flourishing art scene was supported by many other artists who shared his passion and has contributed to the vibrant community we enjoy today.
24 de may. de 2012 · David Bierk was elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1998 and was posthumously awarded the Queen's Gold Jubilee Medal in 2002. Bierk's work is widely represented and is in numerous public and private collections across North America including the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Dayton Art Institute, Dayton, Ohio.

David Bierk. By Gordon Gibb / April 10, 2021 . Mr. Bierk was a noted artist, teacher and co-founder of ARTSPACE with poet Dennis Tourbin, serving as its Director from 1974 until at least 1981. At the time, ARTSPACE was hailed as one of Canada’s earliest artist-operated arts centers.
