Francis Rocco Prestia, bassist of Tower of Power. Francis Rocco Prestia, whose fingerstyle bass playing was a key component of the sound of funk greats Tower of Power, died today (Sept. 30) while in hospice care. The cause of death was not disclosed but Prestia had undergone a liver transplant in 2014 and was known to have been ill in recent years.
