Girlschool rocks and the girls have this tongue-in-cheek and rebellious mentality spread out all over the album. There is no room for ballads, it is rock and party time on ‘WTFortyfive?’. Girlschool are somewhat of a British institution these days and their name sits up there with the likes of Motorhead and Saxon, but back at the start of the band’s career, female rock bands for some reason weren’t taken seriously by many which is a great shame as the material Girlschool has put out has always firmly kicked ass and should have been seen as equal if not better than many of ...
22 de jul. de 2023 · There’s no retirement date on heavy rock. No free bus pass and looking wistfully out of the window. The spirit still burns, and their 14th album is one of Girlschool’s best. Don’t bet against them releasing “Shitwe’re60” in 15 years on this evidence. Rating: 8.5/10.
