Whitesnake est un groupe de hard rock britannique, originaire de Middlesbrough, dans le Yorkshire.Le groupe est formé en 1977 par le chanteur David Coverdale, rejoint ensuite par Jon Lord et Ian Paice, tous trois anciens membres de Deep Purple.Whitesnake connait d'abord le succès en Europe et au Japon, avant de percer aux États-Unis au milieu des années 1980.
