13 de may. de 2024 · I've got the Metal Blade "Black Rose" and "Chinatown" cd's from the 90s. Best sounding thin lizzy cd's I've ever heard. And I've heard a few. I had them both too (and ‘Renegade’, T&L and ‘Life/Live’) and the first issue Japan CDs smoke them imo - especially on ‘Black Rose’, way too bright and brittle sounding on the Metal Blade.

The live version is probably the best place to start, in fact, as Lynott's bass is mixed high enough for his grasp of the role of the bass in the onstage dynamic to reveal itself perfectly. 5.

The band were led throughout their recording career by bassist, songwriter and singer Phil Lynott, and are best known for their songs Whiskey in the Jar, Jailbreak and The Boys Are Back in Town, all major international hits still played regularly on hard rock and classic rock radio stations.
