Guns N' Roses werd versterkt met drummer Matt Sorum en keyboardspeler Dizzy Reed. In deze samenstelling werden in 1991 de albums Use Your Illusion I en Use Your Illusion II uitgebracht. Na enkele concerten ter ondersteuning van deze albums verliet Izzy Stradlin de band en werd hij vervangen door Gilby Clarke.
Paul “Huge” Tobias, born Paul Hug in 1963, replaced Gilby Clarke as the rhythm guitarist for Guns N’ Roses in 1994. A friend of Axl Rose, Tobias contributed to the cover album “The Spaghetti Incident?” and was involved in the long, tumultuous production of the “Chinese Democracy” album, although his contributions to the final product were minimal.
