In each episode Poirot is both the main detective in charge of the investigation of a crime, usually murder, and the protagonist at the centre of most of the episode's action. At the programme's conclusion, which finished with " Curtain: Poirot's Last Case ", based on the 1975 novel of the same name, [1] every major literary work by Christie that featured the title character had been adapted.
Sad Cypress is one of my favourite Poirot episodes, along with Five Little Pigs and Peril At End House everything about this adaptation was stunning. I do admit I did cry two or three times. It is faithful to the book, apart from a slight misjudgement about the rose. The plot is quite a complex one, but it is very well constructed here.
