This is England tells the story of Shaun, an 11-year-old kid growing up in the Midlands. Set during the summer holidays of 1983, it follows his rites of passage from a shaggy-haired ruffian grieving the loss of his father, into a shaven headed thug whose anger and pain are embraced by the local skinhead fraternity.
Fear and loathing in 'England'. When his home life goes south, 12-year-old Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) finds solace with a gang of skinheads in "This Is England." A burning need is the first thing we see in Shaun's eyes. He needs a father, he needs to be taller and stronger, he needs to dress like the other kids dress, he needs to fit in somewhere.
