Eisenberg played him as an emotionally unstable nutjob. Basically, he played him like the Joker, not Luthor. Luthor is also more egomaniacal whereas Eisenberg played him more neurotic. Obviously they tried to modernize him and make him a techbro millionaire like Zuckerberg but Luthor wouldn’t be shy/awkward.
