Allan Holdsworth (* 6. August 1946 in Bradford, Yorkshire; † 15. April 2017 in Vista, Kalifornien) [1] war ein britischer Jazzgitarrist . Da nach seinen Klangvorstellungen die Gitarre wie ein Saxophon klingen sollte, experimentierte Holdsworth früh mit elektronischen Verfremdungen. Er war einer der britischen Pioniere des Jazzrock.

Allan Holdsworth does confidently relaxed and flowingly inspired guitar and Synthaxe, as usual. As stated above, you will not find Holdsworth wildly rockin' out, doing bizarre explosions of guitar nor Synthaxe, (though he is more than capable), on this release.
