Sir David Hare (born 5 June 1947) is an English playwright, screenwriter and theatre and film director. Exhibited under the label Abstract Expressionists, Hare along with Pollock, de Kooning, Rothko, and David Smith were selected for the first São Paulo Biennial in Brazil in 1951.
