Chris Spedding. Born: June 17, 1944 in Staveley, a small town in Derbyshire, England. Named Peter Robinson but later adopted by Muriel and Jack Spedding, and renamed Christopher John Spedding. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Spedding is best known for his studio session work. particularly notable for his hit single "Motorbiking" in 1975.

Chris Spedding was reissued on 14 October 2013 by Culture Factory USA, an independent label that specialises in cult artists. The reissue CD was packaged in a miniature replica of the original quality vinyl packaging complete with an inner sleeve that features the original lyrics, photographs of Spedding and credits for the album.

Gigging with an orchestra necessitates gear changes "When I recorded The War Of The Worlds [1978], I just used an amp and a guitar, but when I had to do the live shows, I had to do all these presets in order to recreate the sounds that were on the record.
In 1975 Spedding had a hit record called "Motorbikin'". In the late 70s he moved to the States and worked with Robert Gordon, Jerry Harrison, Dick Rivers and Johnny Hallyday. Since 2001, Spedding has been playing live with Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry, The War Of The World and R.Gordon / D.Rivers, Herbie Flowers, Charlotte Glasson among others.
