The Fixx are an English rock band formed in London in 1979, initially calling themselves Portraits . Initially formed by college friends Cy Curnin (vocals) and Adam Woods (drums), the pair recruited keyboardist Rupert Greenall, guitarist Tony McGrail and bassist Charlie Barret. The group released 2 singles under the name Portraits.
Ultimate Collection is a 1999 compilation of songs by the band the Fixx. It is largely a collection of singles; many tracks appear as they did on their respective 7" releases. It also has two B-sides and one recording pulled from the rare Happy Landings EP, which makes it stand out from other greatest hits collections. This is the only Fixx collection to use the original recordings of all tracks.

Phantoms is the third studio album by British new wave band The Fixx, released in 1984. It contains the American hit "Are We Ourselves?", which reached #15 on the BillboardHot 100 in the fall of 1984. The song hit #1 on Billboard's Album Rock Tracks, staying at the summit for several weeks. It was also assisted by a popular MTV music video.

The Fixx spent the next year on the road playing live in support of "Beautiful Friction" followed by the "All Request Tour" and the very first "FIXXmas Tour". The following year, Cy Curnin released his most recent solo album "The Horse's Mouth" while being an active participant (along with Jamie West-Oram) in raising awareness for the Love Hope Strength Organization.
