5 de dic. de 2021 · In 1986, Timex Social Club opened for Run-DMC on the “Raising Hell tour” in Long Beach, California, St. Louis, Missouri, and New York City. Soon afterwards the ensemble’s name was changed to Timex Group USA and they released their only studio album, Vicious Rumors on the Dayna/Fantasy Records label, The album peaked at no. 29 on Billboard’s R&B Albums.

The forerunner to Club Nouveau, the Timex Social Club was formed in 1985 in Berkeley, California by Marcus Thompson, Gregory "Greg B" Thomas, Michael Marshall, Craig Samuel, and Darrien Cleage. After going by the name the Timex Crew, they switched names when Thomas, Samuel, and Cleage dropped out and Alex Hill and Kevin Moore joined up.
