Often associated with L.A.'s Paisley Underground scene of the mid 1980s, the band moved even further from the scene's neo-psychedelic sound after guitarist Chuck Prophet joined in 1984. Following a series of stellar recordings, Green On Red called it quits in 1992, as Prophet's solo career beckoned. ORIGIN. Tucson, AZ, United States. FORMED. 1980.

Associated with the Paisley Underground, earlier records have a wide-screen psychedelic sound, while later albums feature the holy trinity of blues, country & folk with a healthy dose of rock ‘n’ roll.

GREEN ON RED was/is an American rock band. The surviving members are Dan Stuart, Jack Waterson, Chris Cacavas and Chuck Prophet. Original drummer Alex MacNicol died in 2004.
