However, he infuses some fun and energy into this 19 th century South Pacific swashbuckler.
Nate and Hayes is an obscure swashbuckler from 1983, and John Hughes was one of the writers. Yes, you read that right; THE John Hughes co-wrote a pirate movie the same year of Mr. Mom and National Lampoon’s Vacation. When doing research about his involvement, most that I could find was that he was brought in for rewrites.
