Tanaquil Le Clercq was born in Paris 1929. She studied at the School of American Ballet. Principal dancer of the New York City Ballet. She was George Balanchine’s fifth wife. In 1956 she became permanently paralyzed by polio while touring in Europe. Repertoire includes: The Four Temperaments. Symphonie Concertante. Symphony in C, Elegie.
