Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor (Hampstead (), 27 februari 1932 – Los Angeles, 23 maart 2011), ook wel Liz genoemd, was een Brits-Amerikaans actrice.Zij won in 1960 een Oscar voor haar hoofdrol in BUtterfield 8 en in 1966 voor haar hoofdrol in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?.Ze kreeg daarnaast meer dan 35 andere filmprijzen, waaronder een BAFTA Award, een Zilveren Beer en vier Golden Globes.

Elizabeth Taylor föddes i London med dubbelt medborgarskap, brittiskt och amerikanskt.Hennes föräldrar var amerikaner från Saint Louis, Missouri som hade varit bosatta i Storbritannien i många år. Så snart hon lärt sig gå fick hon balettlektioner och när hon var tre år framträdde hennes klass för kungafamiljen. När hon var sju år flyttade familjen till USA.
She co-founded amfAR and founded The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, receiving many awards for her advocacy, including the Légion d’honneur, the Presidential Citizens Medal, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 65th Academy Awards. In 2000, Queen Elizabeth II named her a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
