Electronic's second album, "Raise The Pressure" from 1996, is a very good album, but a little surprising to me. There are fewer dance tracks that qualify as club, techno, synth-pop, electro-pop, or however you want to refer to them. There are more conventional pop-rock tracks than I expected, some mid-tempo.

There are fewer dance tracks that qualify as club, techno, synth-pop, electro-pop, or however you want to refer to them. There are more conventional pop-rock tracks than I expected, some mid-tempo.
Raise the Pressure is clearly a high quality album, and it solidifies my feeling that New Order was at its best when it was not around – Monaco, featuring Peter Hook, recorded a few excellent songs in 1997, and Electronic recorded some great tracks as well, at least for this album that was released in 1996. However, both projects suffer from a typical 1990s (and early 2000s) disease.
