13 de oct. de 2021 · Peter Laughner is Cleveland’s great punk rock cautionary tale. A Bay Village native, Laughner was a founding member of legendary punk acts Rocket From The Tomb and Pere Ubu and connected the members of the Dead Boys — all before he drank and drugged himself to death at age 24.
That is, until now. The journey of the Peter Laughner box set travels the years of 1972-1977 and is arranged in a loosely configured chronological way, necessary to give some order to what otherwise is a labyrinthine of a career trajectory. The vast amount of material that includes his multitude of bands, live radio appearances, home recordings ...
Peter Laughner wrote songs about Charles Baudelaire or Sylvia Plath, or simply about how life 'stank.' Being a brilliant guitarist, he played in many bands in his hometown Cleveland, Ohio, although he was more interested in transporting New York-state-of-mind to Cleveland.
