A more pop and simple version of Tilt, but still a very complex album and really not for everyone, there are many birthmarks which will become the basis for later works of Scott Walker. Climate of Hunter is not for beginners, you have to understand a lot, maybe even chords, harmonies, songwriting, song structure.

This massively maligned album was Scott Walker's only album of the 1980's and the only fruits of a lucrative contract with Virgin Records that promised much and delivered so little. It seemed inconceivable that a stellar and legendary talent like his own could fall so dramatically from both critical and public grace, but that is what occurred with 'Climate Of Hunter'.

But Scott went further out than all of them, and this album was the marker for me. Genius. If you have not heard this album please do - it still sounds weird, and then he dropped “Tilt’, and people noticed. The only thing wrong with “Climate of Hunter” is that it should have been called “Scott 5”. But that was perhaps too obvious ...
