Sir Sam Mendes, vero nome Samuel Alexander Mendes (Reading, 1º agosto 1965), è un regista, sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico britannico. Dopo gli esordi a teatro e la direzione artistica della Donmar Warehouse di Londra, Mendes ha fatto il suo debutto alla regia cinematografica con il film American Beauty (1999), per cui ha vinto il Premio Oscar come miglior regista .
