Ginger Baker Middle Passage (1990) Ginger's solo efforts throughout the 1980's always edged toward the drummer's return to world music and jazz-fusion, but neither 1983's From Humble Oranges, or 1986's Horses and Trees explicitly leapt back into the genre, they were more careful exercises that saw Ginger test the waters for that foray.

"The Middle Passage" is one of Ginger Baker's weaker albums; it's not a coincidence that this album is out-of-print. The idea for this project is to combine rock with world music.
