  5. Portsmouth Abbey Monastery is the house of prayer and work for the Benedictine Monks of English Congregation. It was started in 1919. The Abbey Church is dedicated to St Gregory the Great and Queen of Peace. The monks live the life according to the Rule of St Benedict and pray for the needs of the Holy Catholic Church and the Whole World. Portsmouth Abbey School is an apostolate for the monks.

The school is located on a beautiful 525-acre campus along Narragansett Bay, just a few miles from Newport, RI.
