24 de feb. de 2015 · In an attempt to remain competitive, Kaiser-Frazer’s experimental engine department at Willow Run, led by engineer Dave Potter, a Continental transplant, developed a 288 CID overhead-valve V8. Although the engine never made it into production, obviously, it’s certainly worth a look. Let’s jump right in.

Langworth published by Automobile Quarterly Publications, 1975. Its recommended reading for a deeper understanding of the postwar automobile industry as well as the Kaiser-Frazer role.
Production began on May 29, 1946, and the Frazer made its public debut on June 29, 1946. There was one basic four-door sedan body shell that was shared with the similar but lower-priced (by $200 to $600) Kaiser. The Kaiser-Frazer Corporation was the result of a partnership between autombile executive Joseph W. Frazer and Industrialist Henry J. Kaiser of Kaiser Company/Kaiser Industries. The company also combined the dwindling assets of the former Graham-Paige Motor Company. The concern was the only new US automaker to achieve success after World War II if only for a few years.
