GCS is a co-educational, multi denominational school under the joint patronage of the Loreto Sisters and, Waterford and Wexford ETB. GCS is noted by visitors as a warm, happy and inviting place.
Loreto Normanhurst Boarding enriches the diversity of our thriving community by connecting students from all over Australia and the world. Our fully flexible boarding model welcomes students from ex-pat and overseas families and the Sydney basin, with 80% of our boarders coming from rural NSW.
Its members comprise of teaching staff, parents and the school’s Trustees, who are representatives from the Loreto Order (2), Donegal ETB (3) and the Bishop of Raphoe’s representative. The Board of Management strives to ensure that Loreto Community School is continually progressing and always providing the highest standard of education.
The Junior Cycle examination is normally taken after the first three years' study in Loreto Community School.
