I was fairly excited for the Boxing Mirror, given that John Cale is the producer and Escovedo has gone through quite a bit over the last few years.Unfortunately, although competent, there isn't much of an edge here sonically. In fact, the biggest failure is that it seems like Escovedo isn't doing anything differently from what he was doing, oh, 10 years ago with With These Hands.
