One great funky record! With the top call and response harmonies by The Wild Tchoupitoulas, the awesome funky backing band The Meters, various additional Neville brothers with backing vocals, and additional contributions from other New Orleans stalwarts, this LP is one of my favorites.

11 de dic. de 2006 · The Tchoupitoulas are one of the black indian tribes in New Orleans. The efforts of a year are devoted to the wild silk and rhinestone costumes they make for Mardi Gras; kind of Indian in drag or in a Las Vegas revue. Their music is driving and hypnotic. Cajun. I can think of little that's as high spirited as the Wild Tschoupitoulas.
The Wild Tchoupitoulas were originally a group of Mardi Gras Indians formed in the early 1970s by George Landry. With help from local New Orleans musicians — The Meters — The Wild Tchoupitoulas recorded an eponymous album, which featured the “call-and-response” style chants typical of Mardi Gras Indians.
