Three Men Walking. (1996) Out Right Now. (1995) Three Men Walking is an album by American jazz reed player and composer Joe Maneri recorded in October and November 1995 and released on ECM the following year. The trio features guitarist Joe Morris and violinist Mat Maneri.
"This is the stuff of legend", wrote Die Zeit of Joe Maneri's ECM debut Three Men Walking, released in 1996, and other journals were quick to echo the sentiment. Subsequently, the album - also featuring Mat Maneri and guitarist Joe Morris - was a best-of-the-year selection in publications ranging from England's The Guardian to France's Jazz Magazine and Germany's Jazzthetik.
1990 gründete er mit Randy Peterson das Mat Maneri Quartet, später arbeitete er auch mit verschiedenen Trioformationen. Ab 1996 veröffentlichte er Alben als Bandleader. Weiterhin arbeitete er mit dem Joe Morris Quartet zusammen und nahm mehrere Alben, darunter das ECM-Album Three Men Walking (1995) mit seinem Vater auf.

Since Three Men Walking was released to a chorus of critical acclaim in 1996, other record labels have been stepping forward with Joe Maneri archive material. There is quite a lot of it (as one would expect of an artist who didn't begin to issue albums until he was almost 70!) and all of it deserves to be heard.
