The original line-up--vocalist Andy Ellison, bassist John Hewlett, guitarist Geoff McClelland, and drummer Chris Townson--were named and picked up by Yardbirds manager Simon Napier-Bell. After the modest success of their "Smashed Blocked" single in the U.S., Napier-Bell recorded crowd noise over their debut, ORGASM, to suggest a band with phenomenal popularity in England.
