Oh, that was Campfire Tales from 1991. Unlike that hodgepodge of insanity (which I kinda enjoyed tbh), this is a fairly standard, serviceable anthology. It's Urban Legend a couple years before Urban Legend , and it does it... fine. 🤷♀️ I enjoyed this while I was watching it, but I won't remember it and it doesn't offer a whole lot to say.
19 de ago. de 2020 · Grim, grungy, nutty and nasty, the film plays out like visionary basement masterpiece bridging the 80s into the 90s, with hommages to both Luici Fucli and Edgar Allen Poe. As the nights begin to grow a little colder, Campfire Tales is the perfect tribute to the age old tradition of shared narratives around the warmth of the flickering flame.

And this ended up being a pretty solid, decently gory, fun lil' budget level anthology romp to boot. Nothing too memorable, but no stinkers either. Starting off with some simple urban legend stuff. Two teens out neckin' in the woods, an escaped mental patient, a bloody hook for a hand, leading to lots of gory, disgusting, decapitatin' fun.

A derelict meets three boys out in the woods and joins their campfire to tell some scary stories. "The Hook": Two lovers meet a hook-handed killer.
Gunnar Hansen stars as an uninvited drifter who joins a group of teens around their lonely campfire and begins spinning a series of gory tales that scare them witless, such as the story of a gang of flesh-hungry zombie pirates out for bloody revenge.
