FlightSafety, Wright's eerste plaat, kreeg lovende kritieken voor haar teksten en songwritingcapaciteiten. FlightSafety bestaat uit eenvoudige akkoordenschema's voor gitaar en piano met vocale melodieën. Wright speelt bijna alle instrumenten op deze release en alle andere releases na FlightSafety.
A handful of solo singles followed before she recorded the full-length Flightsafety, issued on Quarterstick in 1999. Maps of Tacit appeared a year later. Wright released the sparse mini-LP Perishable Goods and the typically eclectic Dyed in the Wool in 2001.
