  4. Fr. Pat Ahern is best known as a founder member of Siamsa Tire, the National Folk Theatre established in 1973. A native of Moyvane, Fr. Pat was educated at St Michaelâ¿¿s College, Listowel, St. Brendan's College, Killarney, and St. Patrick's College, Maynooth. He also studied music at UCC under the late Professor Fleischmann, graduating in 1962.

  7. Pat Ahern was US Champion in Nordic combined in 1982, 1984-85, and 1987. He placed second at the 1983 US Championships, while still recovering from a broken collarbone. He placed third that year in the World Cup. Ahern graduated from Summit County High School in Colorado and later the University of Alaska at Anchorage.
