Alfa Anderson, Luci Martin, and Norma Jean Wright first came to national attention as the original lead vocalists of the powerhouse multi platinum recording group Chic. They collectively earned gold and platinum albums as the signature voices on smash hits such as Le Freak (Freak out), Everybody Dance, Good Times, Dance Dance Dance, and others.
By 1996 Luci Martin and Norma Jean re-emerged to co-write and record new single Let's Bounce for Japan's artist GTS, and soon after they started touring again. Now fast forward to 2014 where Luci and Norma are currently working on several projects together, one includes them working with former lady of chic, vocalist, Alfa Anderson.
Their story begins in 1977, when CHIC‘s gold-selling eponymous debut featured Norma Jean Wright as the group’s first lead vocalist. Alfa Anderson is a soul /rhythm and blues/ disco singer and educator, best known as one of the lead singers of the 1970s band Chic.. Early life and education. Anderson was born in Augusta, Georgia. Her parents named her "Alfa" (from "alpha" the first letter of the Greek alphabet, with the "ph" changed to an "f" in honor of her father's name, Alfonso), because she was their first born child.
