Tha Dogg Pound were signed to Daz Dillinger's D.P.G. Recordz and released their own album that year called Dillinger & Young Gotti under DPG alias. The album title is meant to imply it is a sequel or response of sorts to Dr. Dre's 2001. The album cover has pictures of Daz and Kurupt from the Death Row family picture.

There are two other versions of the EP, but the original has only eight tracks.It was released December 24, 2001, on D.P.G. Recordz.The tracks were recorded at Death Row Records between 1995–96 for Tupac's and Boot Camp Clik's project "One Nation".

Kurupt started Antra Records, while Daz and Soopafly started D.P.G. Recordz. In 2002, a feud arose between the two when Kurupt decided to sign back with Death Row Records, upsetting everyone involved with the group.
