Filbert Street and 22nd Street – These were once the steepest streets in San Francisco, both have a grade of 31.5%. Both streets are one-way; down only.

My San Francisco exploring has been interrupted by the 2024 Tax Season, but I don’t usually get a chance to post something on February 29 th, so I searched my archives for some past pictures I posted for the 85 th anniversary of 1939.

The Curvy Road was built in 1853 and named after Lombard Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.. It originally served as a connection between the city’s Russian Hill neighborhood and downtown San Francisco.

Mayor London Breed announced this week that the count conducted from Jan. 1 through the end of April found 360 tents and structures across the city, compared with 609 in July 2023.
