Their original 1937 recording of the song, for instance, featured such stellar musicians as saxophonists Evans and Lester Young, trumpeter Buck Clayton, bassist Walter Page, and Basie himself on piano. The original title of the song wad “Blue Balls.”

  7. Hace 6 días · Nathaniel Adams Cole attended Wendell Phillips High School in 1934, but dropped out at the age of fifteen to pursue music. His smooth phrasing would later influence the 1948 Phillips graduate Sam Cooke. Cole was also part of Walter Dyett’s music program at DuSable High School. Cole died of lung cancer in February 1965 in a Los Angeles hospital.
