Michael John "Cub" Koda (né Uszniewicz; October 1, 1948 – July 1, 2000) [1] [2] was an American rock and roll musician, songwriter, and critic. Rolling Stone magazine considered him best known for writing the song "Smokin' in the Boys Room", recorded by his band Brownsville Station, which reached number 3 on the 1974 Billboard chart. [3]

Michael "Cub" Koda was born on October 1, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan. His father Max owned a small-town newspaper in Manchester, Michigan. He got his nickname Cub from the character of Cubby on the TV show The Mickey Mouse Club (1955).
Born on October 1, 1948. Died on July 1, 2000. Founding member of Detroit rock band Brownsville Station in 1969. In 1979, Koda began a career as a solo artist and as a journalist for several music magazines before succumbing to a kidney disease. Sites:
