With a breath-taking red brick mansion, magnificent gardens and historic parkland, one day is never enough. The story of the estate unfolds over a thousand years. The landscape with its hedges and narrow tree-lined lanes has changed little over the centuries and is quintessentially Norfolk.
The Blickling Estate garden has something for every season. Take a stroll to the Temple, before looking back to admire spectacular views of the house and Parterre; wander the wilderness, discover the produce growing in the Walled Garden or take time out by the lake.
Blickling Hall is a Jacobean stately home situated in 5,000 acres of parkland in a loop of the River Bure, near the village of Blickling north of Aylsham in Norfolk, England. The mansion was built on the ruins of a Tudor building for Sir Henry Hobart from 1616 and designed by Robert Lyminge.
No trip to Blickling Estate would be complete without a visit to Blickling Hall, a Jacobean mansion thought to be the birthplace of Anne Boleyn. Discover its collections and learn more about the Long Gallery library, with its 12,500 volumes.
Opening Arrangements. Blickling Estate is open 363 days a year. There is an admission charge to access Blickling Hall, which includes access to the garden. The hall is normally open 11am to 3pm in the autumn and winter season and 11am to 4pm in the spring and summer season. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing.
